The 2008 poster for the Annual Blowing Rock Horse Show has just been delivered to Burr Collier, Chairman of the Show. Donated by the studio, the proceeds of the poster will benefit the charitable programs supported by the Equestrian Center in Blowing Rock, NC. Painted in gouache, the poster features horses and riders from last year's festivities. Look for my booth at the shows next August. The mountains are beautiful that time of year - come join us! (The poster can be seen in the Gallery.)

2008 Class Schedule Set!

You'll find the year's class schedule here on the website. *The exact subject of each class depends on what is fresh in the market or in my back yard at the time class is scheduled.
The workshop starts at 10 each day – come early if you’d like some coffee – and the day ends at 4 pm.
If you missed the basic drawing class this winter, you can join any other class, and work on basic drawing instead of painting.
If you have a project in gouache or pencil you can’t seem to complete, please bring it to class, and work on it here!
There are friendly dogs at both workshop locations, allergies beware.
Bring your own lunch both days. Fruit and other snacks, plus water and iced tea will be available.
If you will be coming to Raleigh, there are 4 extra bedrooms at my home/studio. You are invited to stay, at $45./night, including breakfast. Check with me early to see if there is room!
As you register, I’ll send a list of supplies. If you are new to painting in gouache, and do not was to invest in the materials until you “test” it, you can use my paints for $15/ day.
If you are coming with a group of friends, the group can pool resources and buy one set of supplies (plus your own brushes).
These workshops are fun, creative and non judgmental. I’m so convinced that virtually anyone CAN paint – and my step by step method of teaching helps to make this come true.

New site coming…

The wonderfully creative Chris Basnight (Imp Designs) who designs my site is at it again.

Look for a fresh and new site early in the 2008r.  We’re changing the store, and changing the Gallery presentation, using more of the screen, so you can better see the images.  If you have ideas or feedback - pitch in!

One on One Classes

If you would like a small class or one on one classes, I would love to hold them.

I have recently been invited to hold a weekend class in a home in a South Carolina, for a wonderful group of 8 women. Great fun and wonderful work come from these workshops!  If you and your friends cannot come to Raleigh or Blowing Rock, this is a fun alternative.
